Gross
Tally Measured by piece
A. Thickness x B.Width x C.Length/12 + 10%-15% Air
Quick, inaccurate form of measure
Ask
for yourself! When inquiring elsewhere about a talley of lumber, find
out how it is done. From there you can calculate the amount of "pad"
or air you might be buying. Is the price for the talley an accurate price
of the lumber in the talley?
The
National Hardwood Lumber Association rules recommend tally before straightline.
The Buyer pays for straighlining as a mill work service. Lumber loss is
absorbed by the customer varying from 2% - 20% depending on equipment,
operator and condition of lumber. |
