Meet The
Jackel Team

President of JE, Steve Jackel has been involved with wood since 1971. Steve gained much of his wood education while involved in the Dulcimer business, building his own house and wood sales. In 1991 he decided to start his own business, Jackel Enterprises. As a leader for his company Steve has grown JE from a small warehouse and one man operation into a 40,000 sf facility on a 2 acre lot. Steve’s 45 years of wood knowledge is invaluable in the design and build community.

Noah Jackel serves as our vice president and operations manager. He oversees Jackel Enterprises and our Wood Box Beam division. Diligent and knowledgeable, Noah has worked for JE since 1996; his tireless efforts continue to improve our production and services.

Jon Hodges joined the Jackel team in 2016 bringing extensive experience in technical sales and partnership development.  Jon provides an outside sales presence for Jackel Enterprises and works closely with Architects, builders and stakeholders to achieve their design goals by matching the best available wood and value added millwork to their projects.

Rick Moreno, a local from Watsonville, has worked for Jackel Enterprises since 2000. He is our warehouse manager, with a great sense of humor and competence he is always willing to help fulfill your order and ready it for delivery. Rick is our go to guy for all our stock items.

AJ has been working for Jackel for over a year and brings with him 4 years of warehouse experience and 7 years as a delivery driver. He enjoys spending time with his family especially his daughter. Basketball and eating cotton candy are just two activities he enjoys. His favorite animal is a unicorn.

Gene Martinez has been with Jackel Enterprises since 2007, hardworking and good humored he is a valued team member. He works in the mill and Wood Box Beam division, Gene is cranking out the custom orders to your specifications. His favorite saying “Treat yourself, don’t cheat yourself” is reflected in his work of our top quality wood products.

Jose has been with the Jackel Team for a year working in the warehouse. His most prized possession is his family and spending time with his family makes him the happiest. In his leisure he enjoys playing soccer and watching the professional soccer player Pelé. One of his attributes that he would like others to know about him is, he likes to Learn Each Day!
